In 1997 Provident Financial decided to expand outside the UK into international markets. We set up home credit operations in Poland and the Czech Republic in 1997 and in Hungary and Slovakia during 2001. More recently, we have opened a pilot operation in Mexico.

Our international division follows the same model of home credit adopted in the UK. We've made rapid progress and had some excellent results.
